Pelvic Health Service for Women in Perth
Complete Care Health is pleased to now offer a pelvic health service at our Wembley and Ellenbrook clinics. Senior physiotherapist Joanne Huynh, who is certified in Pelvic Health Service for Women, offers this care during her working hours at both locations. Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, or other pelvic health concerns, we are here to help you.
Who May Benefit?
Our services are designed to address a range of conditions, including:
- Stress urinary incontinence: Involuntary leaking during physical activity.
- Urgency and urge incontinence: Sudden, strong urges to urinate.
- Bowel concerns: Constipation and bowel incontinence.
- Prolapse: Pelvic organ bulging.
- Pregnancy-related issues: Back, hip, or SIJ pain and preparation for birth.
- Postpartum recovery: Addressing diastasis recti, mastitis, and more.
We currently provide services exclusively for women but may expand to include men and children in the future.
What to Expect
Initial Consultation (60 minutes)
During the consultation, you’ll be guided through completing a Pelvic Health Internal Examination consent form to ensure transparency and comfort throughout the process.
Joanne will ask you questions about your bladder and bowel health, gynaecological history, and relevant medical background. Assessment may include an internal vaginal and/or rectal examination if indicated, with consent requested at every step. If you’re not comfortable, alternative options will be provided, and you can opt out at any time.
Follow-up Appointments (30 or 45 minutes)
Please note that not all follow-ups will involve internal examinations. The focus will be on monitoring progress and adjusting your care plan based on your specific needs.
Available Therapies
We provide a variety of management strategies and interventions tailored to your condition:
- Pelvic floor and abdominal exercises specific to your needs.
- Soft tissue massage when required.
- Postnatal and antenatal clinical Pilates (eligibility criteria apply).
